Online Affiliate Marketing Programs In Simple Terms

Online affiliate marketing is the practice of someone producing a product and then paying others to market and sell it for them for a percentage of the profit. There are many affiliate marketers that have become millionaires selling other's digital products, and this practice can be quite lucrative for someone that educates themselves on the market and the product ahead of time.

  • History

    Affiliate marketing in truth predates the Internet. The idea of sharing profits for a product that someone sells online began in 1994 nearly four years after the advent of the Internet.

    While there is some confusion as to who started the first online affiliate marketing program, there are those who say Jeff Bezos of Amazon was. However, it appears that in actuality the adult industry, and Cybererotica, in particular, with its cost-per-click program, was the first to implement an online affiliate marketing program.

  • Function

    Online affiliate marketing when done correctly, and pursued over the long-term can be quite lucrative. There are those who have made millions and those who only make a tidy monthly sum which allows them to live comfortably. It is choosing the right products to promote and having an understanding of online marketing that make it possible for those who have done well with online affiliate marketing to continue to do so.

  • Types

    There are many different types of products that an online affiliate marketer can choose from. Many of these products are Internet marketing products, self-help, or gaming such as the World of Warcraft. There are also e-books, e-courses, CD's, DVD's, and even regular paperback and hardback books depending on the author's preference. Clickbank is a good place to find out what types of products are available.

  • Time Frame

    Online affiliate marketing has a learning curve of at least six months to a year depending on how much time you are willing to donate to learning the ins and outs. If you already have some marketing experience with your own product or in your job in the real world these can go a long ways towards reducing the learning curve for online affiliate marketing.

  • Warning

    Many online affiliate marketing products, and online marketing products, restrict telling the full story, in the hopes that you'll come back and buy the other half. At least, that is the hope.

  • Prevention/Solution

    There is a lot of information online that is available for free that can teach you about online affiliate marketing. There are also tons of what they call Joint Venture Giveaways where if you are new to online affiliate marketing you can get many digital products for free. These will get you started with learning about online affiliate marketing and can save you a lot of money, heartache and time. The key is sticking with it, learning the business of online affiliate marketing and then putting what you learn to good use.

  • Internet Marketing Tips: 3 Tips for Finding that Perfect Person for Outsourcing

    To be successful with Internet Marketing there are many things you have to do well. One key for succeeding with Internet Marketing is to outsource some of the work. Outsourcing for Internet Marketing is usually mandatory.

    Of course, you need to know what you need to outsource. Most often you should outsource things you don't do well yourself and things you don't have time to do yourself. Once you decide what you want to outsource then you need to find the right person to outsource to. So, here are 3 tips for finding that perfect person.

    Use Referrals

    When outsourcing for Internet Marketing you don't want to take any chances if you can help it. Therefore, the first tip for finding that perfect person is to use referrals. Simply ask other Internet Marketers who they use for the job you want done. If you don't know any other Internet Marketers then you can go to an Internet Marketing forum and ask there.

    Get Samples

    When outsourcing for Internet Marketing another important tip for finding that perfect person is to get samples. Even if the person comes highly recommended by someone you trust, you should still ask for a couple samples. The person might be great at what they do but they might not be right for you and what you want and need. So, always ask to see a couple samples. Then you can be sure of what you're going to get and there won't be any surprises when the work is delivered to you.

    Never Pay More than 50% Upfront

    The final tip for finding the perfect person to outsource to is to never pay more than 50% upfront. On the Internet it's just far too easy to get scammed. Therefore, you want to make sure you always protect yourself. Nobody should ever ask for more than 50% payment at the beginning of a project. If they do, then you shouldn't hire them.

    3 tips for finding that perfect person for Internet Marketing outsourcing is to use referrals, to get samples, and to never pay more than 50% at the beginning a project. If you follow this advice then you will successfully outsource some of your Internet Marketing work and this will lead to success online.

    5 Qualities of the Successful Internet Marketer

    The idea of being mere passengers on a ship meant to sail to the farthest points does not appeal to people who like to put their destiny into their own hands. Perhaps this is the reason why more and more people are succumbing to one of the most popular businesses around – affiliate marketing. But.....

    It is because in this business, there are no bosses to order the employees around. There are no deadlines to meet and no clutter of work do to. One only needs to be equipped with the tools needed to succeed in a business such as this, and he is bound to get what his heart ultimately desires.

    Just what are the things needed to be able to succeed in affiliate marketing? What must one have within himself to be able to do well in this industry? There is a lot of competition involved in affiliate marketing, and to be able to rise above the norm, one must be equipped with just the right stuff necessary to propel him forward. There are five things one must ultimately possess if he wants to achieve the glory he is yearning for in this business, and these five things are a must for him to possess to be able to stand out among the rest.

    The very first quality one must possess if he wants to try his hand in affiliate marketing is the willingness to learn and be trained. Treading through unfamiliar territory is scary stuff if one is not properly equipped, and he might get lost amidst a jungle of the unknown. Learning the tricks of the trade is also an important aspect of affiliate marketing, and one’s willingness to know it all will give him far better advantages in the business than he could ever imagine.

    The second quality one must possess is the willingness to invest time and effort even if direct results do not seem at all apparent. Although several months may pass without good news, it is important for one who has his foot in the industry to hold on and wait. It is this quality which would save him from giving up after investing a lot of himself in the business.

    The third quality one must possess is self-determination. If one wants to conquer the affiliate marketing world, he must have the ability to push himself ahead. Never having to say die is a quality each and every affiliate marketer should possess, and the ability to motivate oneself into scaling greater heights is an ability which would actually take an affiliate marketer there.

    The fourth quality one must possess is discipline. If one knows how to teach himself to work everyday with all the energy he can muster, then he is close to achieving what he has set his heart to having in the first place.

    The fifth and last quality one must possess is optimism. Negative attitudes and hearsay should not discourage an affiliate marketer from pursuing what he has to in order to make life better for himself and for everyone concerned. Neither should anyone influence his attitude toward the business, because once in it, it is a must for him to be the captain of his ship and the master of his soul.

    The ingredients to success in a business such as affiliate marketing are diverse and manifold, but the most important thing one needs to be able to make it big lies in himself alone. It is he who has the capacity to do everything to be able to realize his prospects, and the desire which fuels his heart in doing so is the gasoline which should keep the engine going.

    Affiliate marketing is all about putting one’s fate into his own hands. The right attitude is the key to being able to steer one’s ship into that part of the ocean where a certain kind of serenity can be found, one that permeates the atmosphere as the ship sails calmly on.

  • Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 5 of 5

    By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliate Payraise"

    The word "overhead" is not a favorite among those who run businesses of any kind. Nobody likes the expenses of operating a business. And nobody really talks about them much when it comes to promoting all of the "money-making" products and services online. But, don't kid yourself, there's a lot of overhead.

    That brings me to the fifth reason why I love affiliate marketing...

    ** You don't need a big budget to make it work **

    Do you have any idea how much money is spent running an Internet business? There are monthly fees for...

    * Auto responders
    * Hosting
    * Management
    * Advertising
    * Scripts
    * Much more

    There are regular fees for...

    * Licensing
    * Outsourcing
    * Support
    * Customer Service
    * Maintenance
    * Development
    * Recruiting
    * Much more

    It's not uncommon to spend tens of thousands (even hundreds of thousands) of dollars in operational costs -- which is fine if you've been in business a while and are making the bucks. However, if you're a newcomer, it can be taxing on your budget! I paid one girl over $30,000 last year just to oversee one small part of my business.

    No one talks much about it, but there are a lot of expenses involved before you get to the "bottom line" of profit. But, with affiliate marketing, you don't need a big budget to make it work! You can simply use a variety of free and low-cost marketing methods to generate clicks to your affiliate link.

    That's why I love affiliate marketing.

    You don't need a big budget to make it work.

    Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 4 of 5

    By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliate Payraise"

    I'm sure by now you are well aware that there are those who have reported huge amounts of money being made with their online businesses. What you may not be aware of is the amount of work involved in generating those "sales" (not always net profit, mind you and this isn't "spendable" income in a lot of cases).

    That brings me to the fourth reason why I love affiliate marketing...

    ** You don't need to manage an entire business **

    While it can be quite lucrative, running an entire business with employees, inventory, partners, vendors, and other associates can be a time-sucking, frustrating ordeal.

    Imagine...

    * Processing refunds
    * Putting out fires when partner's Spam
    * Managing day-to-day operations
    * Overseeing projects you've outsourced
    * Recruting new affiliates
    * Training everyone to help you
    * Taking care of the paper trail
    * Doing all of the "stuff" that business owners do.

    Didn't you originally want to start an internet business to make more time for important things in life?

    Why not make a lot of money without making a lot of extra work for yourself?!

    It can be a lot of extra work and stress. But, with affiliate marketing, you don't need to manage an entire business! You are simply responsible for promoting your affiliate link... someone else handles all the rest.

    That's why I love affiliate marketing.

    You don't need to manage an entire business.

    Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 3 of 5

    By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliate Payraise"

    Some people have the ability to persuade others and talk them into just about anything. Especially when it comes to influencing their buying decisions. They know how to push the right hot buttons, say things the right way and generally get consumers into an emotional frenzy to the point they are ready to click an order button.

    There are two key words in that paragraph that really need to stand out in your mind: "some people".

    Not everyone has this ability. In fact, only a few do.

    That brings me to the third reason why I love affiliate marketing...

    ** You don't need to write a world class salesletter**

    Have you ever tried to write a salesletter? There's a reason why professional copywriters charge up to $10,000 (and sometimes even more) for a SINGLE salesletter. It takes a lot of experience and skill to write a top-gun salesletter, which is why most people have a hard time convincing people to buy if they do create their own products and website.

    They simply don't have the right salesletter in place to make it all work. Without good copy, it really doesn't matter how spectacular the offer is, you're simply not going to get many sales.

    The average conversion rate of site visitors who become buyers is reportedly less than 2%. That means 98 out of every 100 do NOT buy. That's why sales are so incredibly bad for a poor site ... you "might" get 2 sales out of every 300-400 visitors. But, with affiliate marketing, you don't need to write a salesletter! You simply direct people to someone else's high-octane salesletter for them to convert your leads into commissionable sales.

    That's why I love affiliate marketing.

    You don't need to write a world class salesletter.

    Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 2 of 5

    By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliate Payraise"

    Pop quiz time. What does "HTML" stand for? Don't know that one? How about this - what does "FTP" stand for? OK, one more chance. Do you know how to work with either?

    That brings me to the second reason why I love affiliate marketing...

    ** You don't need to build a website **

    What scares people more than creating a product is building a website!

    * What in the world is HTML? Or FTP?
    * How much does the software cost? And hosting?
    * How do I upload files?
    * Why isn't it formatted correctly?
    * Why don't my graphics look like the ones the pros have?

    If you are a complete beginner, it can be very difficult (even using templates) to get an attractive website in place. And, hiring a professional to do it for you is out of the budget for most people.

    But, with affiliate marketing, you don't need to build a website. You simply send visitors to someone else's professionally designed site through your affiliate link.

    Just in case you're interested, HTML stands for "hypertext markup language" and is the coding used to build webpages. FTP stands for "file transfer protocol" and is the process used for moving files from your computer to a website, or vice versa.

    Really, in a manner of looking at it, you get to take advantage of the time and money invested by someone else to develop the site. Think about it: when you promote an affiliate link, it reflects firstly upon YOU. You are the one who is advertising the link, recommending the product, sending people who have interacted with YOU to the website.

    The professional site of someone else really represents you as the promoter, in the eye of those who have clicked through your link. You get the benefits without the bother!

    That's why I love affiliate marketing.

    You don't need to build a website.

    Jimmy D. Brown is the author of "Affiliate Payraise", teaching you a whopping 27 ways to increase your affiliate commissions even without a website of your own! Tired of "tiny" commission checks? Grab your copy of "Affiliate Payraise"- here!

    Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 1

    By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliate Payraise"

    Do you find yourself "starting" to create your own product to sell online, but never "finishing" it? One of the things I love about affiliate marketing is "You don't need to create your own products!"

    Many people find the idea of creating their own products to be an overwhelming and even paralyzing task because....

    * I don't have any good ideas!
    * I'm not a writer!
    * There's too much competition!
    * I don't know how to set everything up!
    * I can't figure out where to start!
    * It's too hard!

    These are just a few of the valid reasons many people give when it comes to not creating their own products to sell. I'm sure with a few minutes of brainstorming, we could come up with a list of many more.

    With affiliate marketing, you don't need your own products. You simply promote someone else's already proven successful offer for a commission.

    And, truth be told, even if you ARE a writer and you DO have lots of ideas and you CAN figure it all out...

    ** Nobody wants to create new products all the time **

    As good as you may be, you don't know everything! Why try to create a product on every topic imaginable in your market when you can earn just as much money by simply
    promoting someone else's really good offer as one of your profit streams?

    That's why I love affiliate marketing.

    You don't need to create your own products.

    Tomorrow I'll tell you why you don't need a _______________!

    Several Income Streams With Affiliate Marketing Commissions

    So you work a regular job and when the money runs out each month there are still bills to pay. You may have considered affiliate marketing as an income source in the past but dismissed it thinking affiliate marketing commissions probably would not generate enough extra money to make the work worth your while.

    Maybe you gave up too soon?

    Like any new business venture, things sometimes start slowly but, if you hang in there, your efforts pick up speed as you gain a little experience and confidence with what you're doing. This is especially true of affiliate marketing.

    The beauty of earning affiliate marketing commissions is that you don't have to change careers to do it. You can keep that day job while you build your business. There's no risk to you if it doesn't work out but, really, there's no reason that you cannot succeed. If you can just carve out a little bit of time each day to get started and put some daily effort into it, what may start small can become an extra chunk of income each month without you having to find a second part-time job or take on more overtime at work.

    If you set up a website and market just one product, even if you're doing everything right, you won't make thousands of dollars the first month (at least, it's not likely). But, if you continue good promotion, add valid and interesting content to your site, get the word out about your site, get your site ranked well in the search engines, that one program can see you earning affiliate marketing commissions that might surprise you.

    You can add to your income by marketing several related affiliate programs on your website. As your traffic keeps growing and getting more visitors, each program has the potential to earn you money and you can end up with several income streams made up of affiliate marketing commissions from different sources.

    It's not uncommon for full time affiliate marketers to start out with one website and expand to several more quite quickly, with some marketers actually owning dozens of websites, each focused on a specific niche and type of products. The more you earn, the more can invest back into growing your affiliate marketing commissions, the more visitors you'll get, and the more you'll earn. It becomes a nice little circle of income that there's no reason you can't take advantage of.

    A great way to earn several different marketing commissions is to use one of the many affiliate marketing companies available today. You sign up, choose from the merchants who use them as payment collectors, get all of your affiliate materials and links in one place, and then you get paid all of your commissions at once through the affiliate marketing company. The leaders are ClickBank, PayDotCom, and ShareASale where you'll find ample products and services that pay nice commissions. They handle all the details. All you have to do is promote the products.

    These processors are great for beginners because you can track statistics, clicks, how many people purchased and what percentage of clicks that came from each individual link. This allows you to see which worked best. You can adjust your efforts based on those performance reports, to earn more commissions and sales. It's easy to get started making affiliate marketing commissions with just a little time, knowledge and effort.

    PPC Marketing: Instant Traffic, Instant Sales!

    PPC marketing or pay per click marketing is the most popular method of advertisement employed by various marketers on the Internet. PPC marketing may often be referred to as pay for position, cost per click or pay for performance. But regardless of the term used, PPC marketing is the online advertiser's medium of choice for promoting products and services to online consumers.

    PPC marketing is beneficial to both the advertiser and the consumer. Advertisers using PPC marketing only need to pay for the actual click throughs linked to their sites from search engines. At the same time as consumers are relieved of having to get annoying emails or pop-up ads for products and services.

    When an online consumer searches for a specific product or service on the Internet, corresponding PPC marketing ads are also displayed alongside the results generated by the search engine. This forms a highly targeted consumer group that is more likely to purchase a specific product or service. In addition, websites get to limit their advertisement costs with the use of PPC marketing. PPC marketing is truly a winning solution for both parties.

    Possible drawbacks of PPC marketing

    Despite the obvious advantages of PPC marketing, there are possible drawbacks that can cancel out its benefits. One of the most common problems associated with PPC marketing is the inexperience of many people attempting to use this profitable advertisement method. Simply submitting PPC marketing ads to a search engine such as Google Adwords, does not make for a successful campaign.

    PPC marketing requires a calculated and systematic approach to setting up ads. PPC marketing involves the use of keywords and bids in order to get top placement on a search engine. Getting top search engine placement helps boost traffic to a website, traffic that can easily translate into profit. But, without the necessary experience and knowledge to carry out a typical PPC marketing campaign, you can burn through your budget quickly without making a profit.

    Bidding on keywords can be quite costly, as the growing number of marketers struggle against each other to bid on the most popular keyword for their PPC marketing ad. Obviously small business websites are at a disadvantage here since big business websites are able to pay more for popular keywords related to their site. This is because most small businesses only set aside a small portion of their capital for advertisement, putting them at a disadvantage.

    Running an effective PPC marketing campaign

    There are a number of things that a marketer should consider when running an effective PPC marketing campaign. It is important to develop a marketing plan in order to get the most return on investment from PPC marketing. Selecting the most appropriate keywords that relate to the site's business is essential in PPC marketing. However, simply choosing the most popular keywords does not necessarily translate into profit.

    Selecting more specific keywords will put a site within the top three to seven positions of search results and will still catch consumers. In addition, it doesn't cost as much as getting the top one and two spots for the same keywords.

    It is also important that you constantly monitor the performance of your PPC marketing campaign. This allows you to modify existing PPC marketing ads to make them more productive. At the same time, any PPC marketing ad that has not proven effective can be immediately discontinued. Altering PPC marketing ads is a continuous process that PPC marketers do in order to increase their return on investment.

    Getting professional help with PPC marketing

    The popularity of PPC marketing has given rise to professionals offering PPC marketing services for small and big businesses. Hiring a professional PPC marketing company may not be advisable for a small business that cannot commit a healthy budget for PPC marketing. Most PPC marketing companies offer sliding rates for their services so it can cost serious money to produce acceptable results.

    There are many alternatives, including PPC courses and software, that will teach you PPC marketing but caution is advised before you spend hundreds of dollars on such alternatives. Get some free education about PPC first.

    An Easy Way For Newbies To Get Articles!

  • Grab a free ebook - Newbie Article Secrets - No email required - at the end of this article.

    Every successful article marketer will tell you that it's better to have a small and loyal audience, a targeted audience. If you are a frequent Internet user, you know this as well. You like to revisit certain sites because they have what appeals to you in their articles or content. Articles are what satisfies the hunger for information and knowledge that most of us have.

    So, what can you do if you cannot write articles?

    Writing content is not as difficult as it looks. You may be judging yourself harshly by forgetting that every writer can attract a loyal following. It's not about perfection, it's about personality.

    Articles provide financial benefits for the website owner or article marketer.

    The benefits that articles provide are:

    *** Getting your website or blog high in the ranking in search results for keywords and keyword phrases. These should pertain to or be relevant to what is typed into the search box by the user. They will provide backlinks to your site when they are recognized as having value and are linked to your site from another site or newsletter. These backlinks tell search engines that your site provides quality content that has the confidence and trust of other quality sites.

    *** Articles are also beneficial to the website owner and visitors to the website. When the readers like the articles, they tell their friends, family and peers and recommend your site to them, providing for a larger volume of traffic. This is where you make money. You get more sales volume if your traffic trusts and believes in your content. Your product or services are much easier to sell when visitors feel they know that you know what you are doing and talking about.

    I think we have established that articles are very important to you and to your online income. Quality articles are crucial to keep ahead of the competition. However, there is one major hassle for many website owners: The hassle of actually writing articles.

    Many website owners would rather spend their time on marketing and, unless you’re a big time company, you don’t have the necessary resources to hire a pool of article writers. If this is you, a word of warning here. Plagiarism or copying of articles written by someone else is theft and could easily get you into trouble. You could end up with a hefty fine and even jail time! Don't do it. Smart writers keep tabs on their work and you will get caught.

    So what are the legal options to using the writing of others?

    If you hate writing articles and you think you can’t afford to hire freelancers to write for you then find free articles that you can, at least, rewrite to give them your spin, that is, add your personality. This can be accomplished by simply changing a few words, adding a sentence or two, etc.

    The first place to look for free articles is in the public domain. Just search on line for public domain articles in the niche you are targeting. You should not have problems with copyright infringement and be subject to the subsequent penalties and fines because public domain articles are articles freely given to the public for public use.

    You can do whatever you want with public domain articles. You can place them on your site, name them as your own, put them in a newsletter. The decision is yours. Always remember though that you will have to choose articles that are very relevant to your site.

    The downside to public domain articles is they are free for anyone to use. This means that many of your competitors will have access to them as well. Since every site needs to be original and unique, even though you have the same niche, this could be a big drawback. Why would a visitor stay on your site when the same content is all over the web? This is why rewriting is necessary. You must be different from your competitors and adding your personality to each public domain article will make you different.

    Another way to get free articles is to allow other sites or writers themselves to submit articles to your site that are in your niche. You should require that the articles be original and not posted on any other site. In exchange for exclusivity, guarantee them a link back to their site or product offer. This will enhance your existing content. However, such articles should not dominate your content else most of your content would be leading to other sites through the back links. This pushes your readers away from your site.

    The best approach is always to have your own articles dominate your content whether they are totally original or rewritten by you to reflect your spin on the subject.

    One easy trick is to add a paragraph at the beginning of a public domain or submitted article, giving your opinion of its content, and at the end, summarizing your opinion. This will change how search engines index the article and may make your version stand out. Make sure you use proper keywords and keyword phrases in your paragraphs that relate to the content of the article.

    There are many article writers who do part time and freelance article writing jobs that charge minimal fees. You can get good articles that have all the keywords and keyword phrases you need that will provide what people are searching for through the search engines. You can get a quality article written exclusively for you for as little as $5. You provide the subject of your website or product offer and they do the rest.

    The investment you make for these articles could be worthwhile because they can drive traffic to your website or offer and people might buy your stuff. You hold copyrights to the articles and you will be able to use them any way you choose. You can even rewrite them to add your personality.

    There is no question that articles are a fast way to build your business, drive traffic to your site, and put money in your pocket rather quickly.

  • 3 Things to Know Before Submitting Your Articles Anywhere

  • Grab my Free Article Marketing Study Course at Gifts from Jim DeSantis - here! No email or sign up required. It's a direct download.

    You will find a number of my articles scattered across the Internet in more than 150 Article Directories. They have been viewed by thousands of readers, republished, and even emailed to friends of the readers. The benefit has been free information for my readers and traffic to my various blogs and websites. Feel free to copy my formula.

    Submitting articles to directories is a major form of information-based marketing.

    We have had information-based marketing for many years via direct mail. It's one of the oldest and most effective techniques to reach targeted prospects and convert those prospects into buyers. Now, with the Internet, the new form of direct mail has become article marketing. Article writing and directory submissions have made the difference for many websites and blogs. Where they once starved for traffic, they now have a steady flow thanks to article marketing.

    The directories also benefit because of increased traffic from search engines. People who Google or Yahoo for a specific topic are likely to find many directories from which to choose that have the content they seek.

    There are many tools to make the process of writing and distributing articles easily but this article is not about those, it's about how you can become an effective article marketer. It's about the mistakes you need to avoid as you start out.

    Mistake 1. Writing with the wrong motives.

    There are three obvious benefits to article marketing - branding, lead generation, and promotion of your website or blog. But there should be only one overwhelming motive for writing an article - to provide free and helpful information to your reader.

    If the article is not focused on this primary and most important motive, it will fail to achieve the three benefits because your insincerity will be obvious. Readers are quick to perceive your self-serving purpose. How do you get people to read what is in your article, then click on your link in your resource box? Give them valuable information for free and invite them to get more by clicking your link.

    Mistake 2. Failing to take advantage of article marketing as a promotional tool.

    The link in your Author Box can help you generate additional links back to your site but you may not know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from that same article.

    When writing, don't forget to insert your keywords at strategic places in the article. One at the beginning, one or two in the middle and one near the end is sufficient. You should also use anchor text in your Author Box link when the directory allows html. Out of the 185 directories I submit articles to, 21 do not allow anchor text. They do allow a standard URL to link back to your website or blog.

    If you take the extra time to write quality content and use keywords and/or anchor text in your articles, your articles might get picked up by publishers with a large number of readers thus further expanding your possibilities for traffic back to you. This also results in better search engine placement because of the number of links back to you from sites outside the article directory.

    If you have something to sell, that increase in traffic will put money in your pocket

    Mistake 3. Publishing content that is mediocre or that attempts to redirect your reader to a sales page.

    If you think that you can write and submit any drivel and you will automatically get links back to your site, think again.

    Nearly all article directories are human-edited which means a real person will read your article. If it's drivel, they will reject it. Do that a few times and they will blacklist you. It's very important that you read the submission guidelines to avoid rejection or blacklisting. Play by the rules and you will reap the three benefits. Not all article banks and directories are going to accept your content automatically.

    When you write and submit good stuff you raise your chances of reaching hundreds, perhaps thousands of readers overnight. All it takes is one publisher with a hundred thousand readers to republish your good stuff. Write articles that you, yourself, would publish. I cannot tell you how many articles I reject for my blogs because they are self-serving drivel but it's about 99%!

    Mistake 4. Submitting illiterate articles.

    This is a big one. Just recently I had a spell of "writers' arrogance" and did not take the time for spelling and grammar checks. Six of my articles were rejected! I deserved that!

    Look, how hard is it to do a spell check and follow basic rules of good grammar? Before you submit, check and recheck for mistakes. Editors will quickly reject your article if it doesn't meet the basics or that makes you look like you only made it through the 5th grade. I use the spell and grammar check functions built into Microsoft Word.

    In the end, it's all up to you to do it the right way. Put your readers first and the benefits to you - second - and you will soon be spread all over the web.

  • The Google Ranking Secret Is No Secret At All

  • Look for two valuable freebies at the end of this article!

    Billions of people are surfing cyberspace, many of them wanting to spend money conveniently. If you have something to sell, how can you ensure they will find you before your competitors? The answer is simple - you need to make friends with the search engines and give the search engines what they want. The good news for you is, 95% of your competitors ignore this secret that is hidden in plain sight because it's too easy!

    What is the secret hiding in plain sight? Search engines want fresh, quality content! They have always wanted fresh, quality content. They are in business to serve the masses so they are brutally picky about who makes it to the first page of search results. Yes, getting backlinks from quality websites is a factor but it means nothing without quality content.

    One of my websites is relatively new. It has a Google PR3. That might seem an envious position. Using my Google Page Rank, I applied to one of those sites that pays for reviews. I was rejected. Why? Very little traffic. My site is generating a measly 300 unique visitors a month (May 2008). I just do not have enough quality content on that site as yet to make it attractive to sponsors.

    So, you see, Page Rank is not always an indication of traffic. It simply means I have a number of back links from high quality sites. Google sees back links as votes. The more back links, the more votes, the higher the Page Rank. Quality content, on the other hand, is the secret to generating traffic. Not only that, quality is what leaves you there for years to come. Even if your site goes down, your quality content will still be found on the Internet highway!

    Quality content consists of profitable keywords and some solid information for your visitors. Don't make the mistake of producing content loaded with all sizzle and no steak. Your visitors can't eat sizzle. They need steak in the form of solid information they can use.

    Concentrate on gathering every 'profitable' keyword, whether long tail or short and use them to craft your money terms which ultimately lets you rank high for very highly competitive keywords. Searches that are in the 5 figures a day.

    Long tail are keywords of more than 2 words (less people searching) and a short tail is 2 or less words (more people searching). Remember long tail keywords are ONLY typed in by a searcher IF they can't find what they are looking for using short tail keyword phrases. If you provide solutions for short tail keyword searches then people won't leave your site to search on long tail keywords.

    This is the secret hidden in plain sight that 95% of your competition is ignoring. They break away from the simple rules and try something extensively different and difficult because the simple methods seem too good to be true to work. That's their mistake that you can use to your advantage!

    Stay away from fads. Save your money and make good use of your valuable time and effort doing what has always worked.

    The boss of search engines is still Google. Follow what Google wants and you WILL be rewarded. It takes just as much time to cheat the search engines as it does to apply solid, honest techniques. The trickster will see his efforts vanish within 3 months. You will still be around making money.

    The simple methods are here to stay and you need to never worry about algorithm changes as you will have the right structured site, with the right set of keywords and the right content that search engines will love. Whether you want to profit from AdSense, affiliates, your own product or service, these strategies will outperform 99% of all your competitors

    Want to get ranked on Google within 60 minutes? No hocus pocus ... just plain and simple?

    Do what I do every other day - submit articles to article directories. When we submit to article directories, the good ones with PR 6 and above, we automatically get their pulling power when Google spiders visits their site. Since Google regularly visits high PR sites, they re-cache (re-index) the entire page. So, when you post an article on a high PR site, the chances are that you could extract Google spiders from the high PR site to yours.

    For example: you post an article to a directory site, Google visits it, crawls it and follows the links. Since you have a new keyword optimized article, Google will catch you on that page. So basically you can practically have your page cached within 60 minutes, depending on when Google is visiting.

    Send out your content to these high PR (articles directory) sites and get indexed faster than ever and watch the traffic start flowing.

  • 4 Ways I Have Improved My Adsense Earnings

    Grab my Free Adsense eBooks - here!

    If you want to monetize your website or blog, the great way to do it is through Adsense, those little ads from Google you see on many websites and blogs.

    There are lots of webmasters struggling hard to earn some good money through their sites while there are others enjoying hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads on their websites. What makes successful webmasters different from the other kind? They are using some smart techniques and they think out of the box. Like me, you can learn and earn.

    Here are 4 easy changes I have made to improve my Adsense earnings on the blog your are viewing right now.

    1. Concentrating on one or two formats of Adsense ads.

    The one format that is working well for the majority is the large rectangle (336x280). That's the one in my sidebar. This format has the tendency to result in higher C.T.R., or the click-through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look a block of content, and most people, looking for information, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense ad but as long as they click, you make a little bit of money for each click.

    The other format is a string of links at the top of the page. Mine appear just beneath my Favorite Blogs links at the top of this page. Again, these are not in-your-face ads. They appear more like links to more information, which they are.

    The object, aside from making a few cents per click-through, is to provide visitors with links to explore that might have information they are interested in, information that was not fully provided during their visit to your website or blog. So it's a win-win for everyone.

    2. Create a custom palette for your ads.

    This simply means that you should choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.

    3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top.

    Do not try to hide your Adsense. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings. Especially place your ads at the top and upper left of the site. These are the proven hot spots.

    4. Choose keywords carefully before you write content.

    Keywords are the "key" to getting relevant ads showing on your website or blog. Your site should be focused around a single theme and keywords in your posts/articles should reflect that theme. Your site will be easier to find via search engines and that traffic just might click through an Adsense ad on your site.

    These 4 tips help to generate hundreds and even thousands of dollars per month in Adsense revenue for webmasters. There are many more tips in my Free Adsense eBooks - here! You'll find them in the sidebar of my blog for easy download.
